Soothe Dog Skin Problems

Is your dog having dry skin problems and is constantly scratching? A scratching dog may share his misery with everyone in the house. As pet owners, there is no escaping the tinkling of his tags when the dog scratches or the awful smell of infected skin. Though dog skin problems seem to be very common, there are actually a lot of different causes which means it can be tricky to figure out the exact one.

Some skin conditions in dogs are prevalent during the summer and autumn months. Usually they are often the effects of seasonal allergies to either tree pollen or grass. Getting Rid of Fleas and Ticks on Dogs

Not only are fleas and ticks a nuisance. Especially during the summer months, fleas and ticks are plentiful and they start partying in your pet’s fur. In addition to just being uncomfortable, they also pose serious risks to a dog’s health and your own. Ticks on dogs can bring anemia, Lyme disease, and parasitic tapeworms which should be enough for pet owners to take action. Ticks can also transmit diseases to your furry companions that can lead to lack of appetite, jaundice, and fever.
Fleas can consume 15 times their body weight and they can cause anemia. They can definitely drain a significant amount of blood from your pet. Puppies and kittens are more vulnerable to anemia. Signs of anemia that is caused by flea include lack of energy and pale gums.
Flea infestation is also the common cause of skin diseases both in dogs and cats. When a flea bites, saliva is injected into the skin, triggering an allergic reaction called flea allergy dermatitis.
